My 2016 Word of the Year

Last year I decided to focus more on an intention for the year rather than a resolution, and I chose a word to use as a “home base” of sorts. I love how it was a way to impact many areas of my life rather than just a very specific part.

Once again this year I had a few words that made the short list for my word of the year. There are many words that I think I could focus on as a way to improve myself – my faith, my day-to-day life and choices, my business.

But only one word could be THE word for 2016. Only one was just right for what I need now.

Nacogdoches photographer word of the year for 2016

Grace.

Focusing on the blessings His grace provides daily.

Focusing on doing my best to bestow that same kind of grace on others.

Making sure to remember to give myself the grace to try – and handle the results well, whether I succeed or fail. And to keep trying each day. Keep pushing in a way that honors myself and others.

Handling daily ups and downs in all aspects of life with grace.

Here’s to 2016 and living gracefully! What is your word of the year?

  1. Grace!! A word I seek to understand and live by. Such a great word for 2016. I think I will have several words or phrases “Patience” – Oh how I need help in this area “Aligning my will to God’s will” “Intentional Prayer” – I struggle to pray in an organized way – my prayers are random – at the traffic light, etc…

    Thank you for your insight!
