Newborn Portraits – Benjamin

Last week I got to snuggle little Benjamin for the first of three shoots – have I mentioned before how I LOVE Little Ones Packages? Because I do! They are a great value for the parents, and it’s so much fun for me to know I get to see this sweet family a few more times within the coming year.

I met with two-week-old Benjamin and his family at their home for the first shoot in their Little Ones package series, and I just love this little guy already!

This little man was just too sweet for words, and I LOVE all that hair!! So cute.

Benjamin just didn’t want to miss out on a thing and didn’t want to sleep much. He is one of the most alert little ones I’ve seen! Those big steel-blue eyes weren’t missing a thing!

I seriously just love all those tiny little baby details… and I know that with my own girls, I don’t want to forget a thing – the swirl of super soft baby hair, the curve of a perfect little ear, the creases in the littlest of feet.

Like I mentioned, Benjamin has two older brothers, and these two couldn’t get any cuter! Henry & Charlie are both just precious and have the most adorable grins…

There’s just something so incredibly sweet about seeing little boys love on their brother… I can only imagine what fun (and maybe a little trouble) these three will make together!

I was honored to get to help continue a family tradition of the newest Morris boy getting his portrait taken with the same glove his brothers were photographed with when they were brand new. This is just part of the power of photographs, and I love that I get to make that family tradition live on.

Newborn Portraits – Pumpkin

We got newborn portraits of Pumpkin done by the same photographer who took our maternity photos, and I can’t wait to see those & share some of them with y’all! But you know this photographer mama had to take some photos of my sweet girl too!!!

Of course, as a photographer’s daughter, this little Pumpkin didn’t really want to cooperate and stay sleepy for either newborn shoot (hopefully that lack of cooperation isn’t a trend that continues as she gets older!). That being said, I got a few sweet sleeping pictures, and honestly, I really love some of the wide-eyed shots I got during our little at-home session too.

Aaaand our sleep window was pretty much gone at that point… but like I said, I don’t mind all that much!

At this point Pumpkin’s patience for photos and my light were fading pretty quickly, but you know I had to try to get at least one or two shots of our newest little Red Raider/Saints fan! There’s something so sweet about having photos of both of my girls in these clothes…

If you follow me on Instagram (@bmariephoto), you’ve probably already seen proof of what a sweet guard dog Dixie is for Pumpkin, and the day of our little photo shoot was no different! She didn’t leave the kitchen where everything was set up, and for most of the time she was just barely outside of the frame watching her baby and making sure she was ok – so so so sweet! You’ve gotta love that sweet family-focused nature of Boxers! I also love this photo because I have a shot of my mom helping me with Peanut’s newborn photos, and since she wasn’t here to help with Pumpkin’s photos, I had another assistant step up to fill in!

Newborn Portraits – Quinn

Soooo excited to share Quinn’s newborn portraits today!!! I almost didn’t get to make it down to Houston to take this sweet girl’s photos, and I am so so so glad that I was able to go. I just adore her mama, and it was fun to get to spend the morning with them. This was the second shoot of their Little One package (first shoot can be seen here), and I seriously can’t say enough how much I love these shoots – it’s just so much fun to get to see my Little Ones families on a regular basis and be a part of how their family grows through those moments in the baby’s first year.

We set up shop in Quinn’s nursery with the shutters open wide as her daddy and brother played downstairs. Sweet girl got to be the star of the show allll morning! As it is with a lot of newborn shoots, it took a little while for her to really settle in to that solid, deep sleep – and my goodness did she want those hands free!

After a quick diaper change and some snuggles with her mama, Quinn settled in… I don’t know that there’s anything more peaceful than looking at a tiny sleeping baby. So sweet. And I just LOVE this shot!

Those hands tucked in under her face like that just make my heart melt!!

Loved adding in this adorable headband, and can we just talk about those squishy, pouty little lips for a second?!? Too darn cute.

We switched things up and Jessica brought out the most precious little headband. So delicate and it added just the right amount of detail & whimsy to this set up. Love it!

Before I left I had to snap just a few shots of Jessica & Quinn. I just love that I caught such sweet moments between mother & daughter in what I’m sure is going to be one of the first of many moments spent in that chair together.
