Photographing people and families through the years is one of the things I value the most about being photographer. Getting to see the stages in their lives and provide them with images that take them back to those days, those feelings, is an incredible responsibility and is such an honor for me.
Knowing that a young woman will be able to look back to see that she’s been surrounded by love from day one is a powerful thing. Knowing that a little boy will be able to look back to see that his big sister really does love him (and has all along) even if they fight like cats and dogs is a powerful thing. Knowing that a mother will be able to look back and feel the light, sweet weight of her baby in her arms as her kids move off to college is a powerful thing.
And this family? It’s such a powerful thing for me to get to photograph them each time. Whitney & Chris prayed and fought so hard for these babies, and the miracle of modern medicine & the miracle of God’s provision astound me every time I see them. These sweet beautiful babies that made them parents, and seeing the way they love their children just warms my heart! From hunching over to walk a mini tractor through a dewey field to snuggles and calming whispers, it is so clear that they would do anything for Lila & Caleb.
And speaking of that mini tractor… is this not just the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?!?!
Is Lila not just the sweetest?!?!!? I wish y’all could hear her little voice. So so cute (almost as cute as those little pigtails)!!
That shot on the right… a daddy & his son. Melt. My. Heart.
I just love this one!
Seriously, the sweetest!!!
Whitney, you are such a gorgeous mama! I am so impressed with your grace, humor & selfless love.
That little wreath was the perfect touch!!
Dying over this one!!
Chris, Whitney, Lila & Caleb, I just love y’all!!! Thank you for continuing to choose to allow me to be a tiny part of your family’s history. It’s a blessing to watch your family grow!!!

Y’all this session was a long time coming!! I’ve photographed Hannah’s sister & her family before many times, and we tried to get something set up forever ago, but you know, life got in the way.
I was sooo glad that we were finally able to find a day & time that worked for our schedules! They’ve been so sweet to let me photograph repeatedly in the field on their property, so it made it extra special to finally be able to photograph them there!
Apparently there’s a beautiful mama-to-be gene floating around in that family, because both Hannah and her sister have been the prettiest pregnant women! Hannah – you look great!!!
I love this one!
So so gorgeous!!!
Can we just talk about those eyes for a second??? And little ones with their daddy – melt my heart!
I love that Hannah had on her Mother’s Love ring from James Avery. Such a perfect touch to a bump shot!
Little Stephen was allll about work during most of the shoot. He was focused on his tractor & moving dirt around, and had the most serious furrowed brow expression on his face… pretty much the cutest thing ever! So intent on helping out – I’m sure his daddy will put that to use one day!
A family tickle fight sure helped to bring out the smiles though!
Isn’t he just so handsome??? (And please notice the handful of dirt & grass.)
This one is DEFINITELY a favorite!!!
Love this one too!!
Lee family, thank you SO much for letting me finally photograph you on your beautiful property. I really enjoyed watching such hard work get done, hearing laughter being shared among family, and witnessing the quieter moments of anticipation of the arrival of your newest family member. I hope to photograph the FOUR of you in the future!
Getting to photograph this little family made me so happy, y’all! You can tell they genuinely love each other, and sweet little Kenleigh is just a doll. On top of that, this is another season in the life of this family that I’ve been lucky enough to celebrate. From engagement and bridal photos to now family portraits, it’s this kind of connection & longevity with my clients that brings me so much joy!!! There’s nothing quite like getting to see a family grow together, and to give them images that Kenleigh can look back to one day to see how she’s always been surrounded by love & joy.
This first photos is definitely one of my favorites!! Look at those pretty smiles… Jacob, you’re a lucky man!!
Kenleigh oh-so-sweetly gave us a moment to get some photos of Brittany & Jacob while she kicked back and enjoyed a bottle.
Perfect timing, because I absolutely love making a point during family portrait shoots to get photos of the mom & dad on their own. So important to have that reminder (no matter how brief the moment is during the shoot) that this is where it all started, and their love for each other has expanded and grown as they’ve opened their hearts to love their child.
So much joy & laughter with these three!
Gah! Is she not just the cutest?!?!
As a mom to two girls, clearly I love mama-daughter photos. But there’s just something about a daddy holding his baby girl that gets me every. single. time. Love it!!
Love these next two!!
Brittany brought a bear that she’d had made with a t-shirt that belonged to her Uncle who passed away (and the shirt has his name on it). She said she got one made for Kenleigh & one for her aunt. Is that not the sweetest gift? The power of family & remembrance are one of the reasons I love photography so much, so I was so honored to get to photograph this memento.
Brittany, Jacob & Kenleigh, thank you so much for starting off your busy Saturday with me, and for letting me once again celebrate the life of your family – both in the big moments and the everyday moments!!!
