Family Portraits – Koltonskis

Photographing people and families through the years is one of the things I value the most about being  photographer. Getting to see the stages in their lives and provide them with images that take them back to those days, those feelings, is an incredible responsibility and is such an honor for me.

Knowing that a young woman will be able to look back to see that she’s been surrounded by love from day one is a powerful thing. Knowing that a little boy will be able to look back to see that his big sister really does love him (and has all along) even if they fight like cats and dogs is a powerful thing. Knowing that a mother will be able to look back and feel the light, sweet weight of her baby in her arms as her kids move off to college is a powerful thing.

And this family? It’s such a powerful thing for me to get to photograph them each time. Whitney & Chris prayed and fought so hard for these babies, and the miracle of modern medicine & the miracle of God’s provision astound me every time I see them. These sweet beautiful babies that made them parents, and seeing the way they love their children just warms my heart! From hunching over to walk a mini tractor through a dewey field to snuggles and calming whispers, it is so clear that they would do anything for Lila & Caleb.

And speaking of that mini tractor… is this not just the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?!?!
