Tell Them

I want to take a second to just remind everyone how important it is to tell those that you love that you love them.

Our days, our minutes aren’t guaranteed. We aren’t guaranteed the chance to say all we want to say.

So take the time. Say it… Whether it’s in a text, a phone call, over dinner, or scribbled on a post-it note. Tell them you love them.

It still hasn’t really sunk in, but this weekend we lost Max’s dad. Just like that, we lost the option to say what we want to say. Just like that, we are left to hold onto the great memories, hold onto the conversations we did have. And while we are blessed to have had those moments and those memories, it just never feels like enough.

I am so thankful that I got to know Chris, and that I got to see him light up whenever he saw or talked about Peanut. I am thankful for the man he taught Max to be. My heart breaks at the thought that he never got to meet our second baby girl, but I am so glad I got to see his joy when we told them we were expecting.

I am thankful for getting to share meals he lovingly and joyfully prepared for us. Thankful for hearing his laughter watching Peanut and Max playing in the pool. Thankful for the way he welcomed me into the family.

Family Formals-0918
Y’all, take the time today, right now, to talk to your loved ones. Tell them you love them. Tell them what you love about them. Thank them for all they’ve done, all they’ve taught you, all they’ve given.

Hug them extra tight tonight.

Tell them.
