We’ve all heard the phrase that “laughter is the best medicine” and I have to say that for the most part I agree. Sure, there are ailments that need more than a giggle to be healed, but many of the day-to-day struggles, aches & pains can really feel a whole lot easier to bear after a good laugh.
I have no idea about the scientific proof of this, but I know that at least for me, there’s nothing quite like the relaxed feeling that comes after a huge fit of laughter. I mean, the kind where you’re crying, can’t speak without busting into laughter all over again, and can’t quite seem to catch your breath. The kind that turns you into a big ol’ kid again. The kind that’s shared with your best friend. The kind that leaves you almost exhausted, but oh-so-happy at the same time.
These kinds of rounds of laughter don’t normally happen for me when I go looking for them, but there is something to be said for knowing a good go-to joke, video, movie, tv show or book that can get you to actually, legitimately laugh out loud. Now sure, this is adorable and makes me giggle, but it mostly takes me back to watching it with one of my best friends, who just so happens to have one of the best, most contagious laughs on this planet. And y’all… this video cracked. her. up.
So if anyone’s having a rough week, or a rough day, take a second and find what makes you laugh. Then watch it as many times as you need to.
