It’s Monday morning, & we’ve got a choice friend. We can go into the week trying in vain to hold onto the weekend, OR we can grab a cup of hot coffee, put a smile on our face & decide to go into the week with joy, optimism & excitement for what the week holds for us. This right here is one of the main reasons I pour my heart and my effort into my photography business. This passion-turned-dream-job of mine allows me the flexibility to attend my girls’ school events. This passion-turned-dream-job of mine means I get to be in the photo with my big girl, surrounded by a ‘frame’ of bright marker, sequins & split peas (I think that’s what they are??). I am always and forever thankful to get to do what I love, pour into families & fellow creative business owners, & build a life that allows for Gobble Gatherings & gardening & being present in my girls’ lives. When you find a gem of a friend who will talk business, call you out when you need it, push you past imposter syndrome, make you laugh, and point you back to Jesus, you hold on to her. Even when she moves all the way across the world! So thankful that God nudged me to attend the @thrivetogetherblog conference a few years ago. So thankful that God sent this amazing lady (& her sequined black boots!) my way at the opening social. So thankful that two minutes after introducing ourselves, we'd already become "besties." So thankful that we both make the effort to stay in touch & continue to pour into each other's lives. @tarynjmeyer, you're truly a gem & in case you hadn't caught on yet, I'm thankful for you, bestie! It is so fun for me to not only take photos of little ones, but add in family portraits with some of the sessions too... because it’s amazing to know those little ones will not only be able to see themselves grow through photos, they can see how their family has been there from day one. Love them & growing with them since day one. Man, I will never get tired of this job of mine!!! #bmariephoto #bmariephotofamily #lovewhatido

This little one came up to me the other night, notebook & pencil in hand and asked in her best waitress voice, "What do you want, ma'am?" I responded with: "Sleep." Without skipping a beat, she put that blue & white striped pencil to that paper & said "Sleep it is!" 😂 Oh, sweet girl. If only it was that easy! So thankful for how Pumpkin continually keeps us laughing (even if she's part of the reason I'm sleep deprived!)! #holmesfamilycircus #mamaneedssleep #laughterisgoodforthesoul #neveradullmoment
